Pre-Registration Checklist

Before you begin the registration process for Surge Dance Competitions, please take a moment to review the checklist below. Ensuring your information is complete and accurate will help streamline your registration and avoid delays.

At Surge Dance Competitions, we do things differently. We’ve custom-built our very own registration platform, unlike any others. We’ve created several training videos to help guide you through our platform, and registration process.

Dancer Information Required

  • Full legal name

  • Date of birth (including year)

  • Email address

  • Signed waiver (required for all dancers)

For dancers under the age of 18, please also provide:

  • Parent or legal guardian’s full name

  • Parent or legal guardian’s phone number

  • Parent or legal guardian’s email address

  • Waiver must be signed by the parent or legal guardian

Surge will make multiple attempts to contact the listed parent or guardian to obtain the signed waiver. If we are unable to reach them, the studio owner will be notified and assume responsibility for collecting the waiver.

Routine Submission Requirements

Each routine must be submitted with the following:

  • Routine name
  • Dance category (e.g., Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, etc.)
  • Music file
  • Deposit payment (required at the time of registration)

Please ensure all uploaded music is properly licensed for public venue use. Surge does not verify licensing and assumes no responsibility for unlicensed music.

Studio Owner Access via mySurge

Studio owners will have access to a real-time portal to view all entries, dancers, waiver status, etc within their mySurge account. This allows you to track your events and routines, and which dancers have completed their waivers and which are still pending.

Quick Tips

  • Double-check spelling and birthdates before submitting.
  • Upload final versions of your music — Surge cannot adjust pitch or tempo.
  • Start early. Spots fill fast and incomplete entries may not be accepted.
  • Registration is only confirmed once all required info is submitted, music is uploaded, and payment is received.
